Pauli Paananen is a Dutch-Finnish violinist based in Amsterdam
he Dutch-Finnish violinist Pauli Paananen (1999) grew up in a musical family and got his first violin lessons from his parents. He continued his studies with Hans Scheepers in Amstelveen until he enrolled at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the class of prof. Peter Brunt. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in 2022 and is now continuing his studies with prof. Maria Milstein. He is an academist at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and will continue his orchestral studies in the academy of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2025. Pauli received masterclasses from a.o. Mathieu van Bellen, Daniel Rowland, Ioana Cristina Goicea, Anatoli Melnikov and several teachers at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and the Dutch String Quartet Academy (NSKA). He has performed chamber music with his family from a young age and continues to do so together with teachers and fellow students in different ensembles. He is currently playing a Johannes Bernardus Cuypers (1814), on loan from the Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation.
